Hybrid floats over existing tiles without glue or demolition: no jackhammer, no dust through the unit, no skip bin in the basement. The tiles need to be flat, firmly stuck down, clean and dry; drummy or loose tiles get fixed first, and wide grout lines may want a skim coat for a perfectly smooth feel.
