THE MECHANISM  [01]

Brisbane summers test floors. The stone core stays stable.

Humidity above 60% for months. Storm season. Air-conditioning drying the house out again by evening.

Solid timber moves with every swing, and laminate swells at the first serious spill — which is why so many Brisbane renovators end up looking at hybrid flooring. Every board we stock is built on a rigid SPC core: stone composite that does not absorb moisture. Water sits on it, not in it.

The boards float over concrete slabs and most existing tiled floors — half of Brisbane's housing stock — so in many homes there is nothing to rip up first. And because our SPC range is 0% crystalline silica, cutting boards does not fill your home with hazardous dust.

CHOOSING A COLOUR  [IN YOUR LIGHT]

Choosing a colour in Brisbane light

Colour is the decision you will live with longest. Brisbane light is bright, warm and unforgiving of orange undertones — start with a tone family, then check real samples at home, in daylight and at night.

WHAT IT COSTS  [INC GST]

What hybrid flooring costs in Brisbane right now

Hybrid flooring prices in Brisbane are simpler than the industry makes them look.

Our entry 6.5mm hybrid range sits around $35–43 per square metre. The premium 9.5mm boards and herringbone run roughly $52–58. Engineered timber — real Australian hardwood veneer — spans about $105–133. Every price on the site includes GST and is shown per square metre and per box, so you can compare without a calculator.

Installing? DIY is genuinely achievable with the click system, and going that way typically saves $25–40 per square metre on professional installation — the going Brisbane rate, depending on floor prep. If you would rather we handle it, supply and install is quoted upfront with prep, skirting and finishing itemised.

Two minutes with the calculator tells you how many boxes your rooms need, including the 10% cutting allowance.

HYBRID FLOORING BRISBANE  [FAQS]

Questions Brisbane buyers ask us

How does hybrid flooring handle Brisbane humidity?

Better than any timber product — and this is the main reason hybrid flooring has taken over in Brisbane. The SPC core is limestone and PVC fused into a rigid board, so it does not absorb moisture from the air the way wood does. February humidity that makes solid timber cup and swell simply has nothing to grab onto. The same stability works in reverse: when air-conditioning or winter westerlies dry the house right out, hybrid does not shrink and open gaps at the joins. We have supplied these boards into Queenslanders, low-set brick homes, riverside apartments and new builds across the city, and the climate question is the one we answer most — with the same answer every time. The core ignores Brisbane weather. That is the whole point of it.

Is hybrid flooring waterproof?

You will see plenty of brands shout "100% waterproof" — we choose our words more carefully, because the truth is more useful. Our hybrid flooring is 100% water resistant: the stone-composite core does not absorb water, so spills, wet feet, pet bowls and mopping do nothing to it. Water sits on the board, not in it. What no floating floor can promise is protection from water that gets underneath — a leaking pipe under the slab or constant moisture rising from below needs fixing at the source, whatever floor you own. That is the honest version. For kitchens, laundries and busy family homes, our range with its moisture-resistant backing is about as safe as flooring gets. Wipe up standing water when you see it, and it will not give you trouble.

How much does hybrid flooring cost in Brisbane?

Less than a showroom would have you believe. Our entry 6.5mm hybrid range sits around $35–43 per square metre including GST; the premium 9.5mm boards and herringbone run roughly $52–58. Those are supply prices, shown per square metre and per box on every product page — no quote forms, no "POA". If you are paying for installation, the going Brisbane rate adds roughly $25–40 per square metre depending on how much floor preparation your slab or existing surface needs; DIY with the click-lock system saves exactly that. As a sanity check, a typical 20m² living room in our entry range lands around $700–860 in boards plus delivery or free click & collect. The flooring calculator turns your room sizes into a box count in about two minutes.

How does click & collect work?

Choose click & collect at checkout and we will be in touch as soon as your order is ready at our Brisbane warehouse, with the pickup address and times. Bring your order confirmation and something suitable to carry the boards — a box of hybrid weighs 15–20 kg and most orders fit in a ute, van or larger SUV with the seats down. There is no freight charge at all on collected orders, which on a whole-house quantity can save a few hundred dollars. Plenty of Brisbane customers order online in the evening and collect within days — it is the cheapest and often the fastest way to get floors in this city.

How fast is delivery in Brisbane?

We dispatch within 1–2 business days, and because you're local, metro deliveries usually arrive within days. Boards arrive on a pallet to your driveway or garage — for apartments, that means ground floor or the loading dock, so plan the upstairs carry. We deliver right across Greater Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and the Redlands, with the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba on weekly runs. Working to a tradie's schedule or a settlement date? Tell us when you order and we will do our best to prioritise the dispatch.

Can I lay hybrid over my existing tiles?

Usually, yes — and in Brisbane this is one of hybrid's biggest practical advantages, because so much of the city's housing stock is tiled. Hybrid is a floating floor, so it sits over tiles without glue or demolition, which means no tile removal cost, no grinding dust through the house, and a day less labour. The conditions: the tiles need to be flat, firmly stuck down, clean and dry. Tap for hollow or drummy tiles and fix any loose ones first. If the grout lines are wide or deep you may feel a faint pattern underfoot, so for a perfectly smooth result a quick skim coat over the tiles is worth it. Our installation guide covers the whole check in detail.

Which rooms suit hybrid flooring best?

Almost all of them — that is why it has become Brisbane's renovation default. Kitchens and open-plan living are the sweet spot: the water resistant core handles the splash zone while the wear layer takes the foot traffic. Hallways and entries benefit from the scratch resistance, with a decent mat catching the grit at the door. Bedrooms work beautifully and feel warmer than tiles year-round. Laundries are fine with the same common sense you would apply anywhere water runs. The one place we steer people elsewhere is a full bathroom with a shower — tiles remain the right answer there. And if you want consistent boards flowing through the whole house, one batch across every room is exactly what the range is designed to do.

Is your SPC hybrid flooring really silica-free?

Yes — 0% crystalline silica across our SPC range, and it is worth understanding why that matters. Many stone-composite floors on the market use silica-bearing mineral fillers in the core. The board is harmless sitting on your floor — the danger is the fine dust released when boards are cut, which is linked to silicosis, a serious and irreversible lung disease that Safe Work Australia now regulates heavily on job sites. Our range is formulated without crystalline silica, so cutting boards in the garage or on site does not put that dust into the air your family or your installer breathes. Still treat any cutting dust sensibly — cut outdoors and wear a P2 mask — but start from a board that is safe by design.

Do you offer supply and install in Brisbane?

Yes — we supply and install hybrid flooring across Brisbane, and we quote it the way we price boards: upfront and itemised. Floor preparation, uplift of old coverings, levelling, skirting or scotia, and door trimming each appear as line items, so you can see exactly where the money goes and trim the scope if you want to do part yourself. Start with the instant quote tool for a ballpark in two minutes, or call 0431 311 633 and talk the job through with someone who actually works with these floors. Prefer to lay it yourself? More than half our Brisbane customers do exactly that.

What warranty do I get?

Warranties differ by range, so the product page is always the source of truth — but as a guide, most of our hybrid floors carry up to a 20-year residential warranty plus a lifetime structural warranty on the core, with commercial terms listed separately. What the fine print means in plain English: manufacturing and structural faults are covered; damage from misuse, flooding from below or incorrect installation is not, which is standard across the industry. The part that matters more than the number is who stands behind it — we are a Brisbane business you can actually get on the phone, not an importer who disappears when a claim gets inconvenient. Keep your invoice, follow the simple care guidance, and the warranty does its job.

Can I get samples before ordering?

Yes — and we genuinely insist you should. Order up to 3 free sample boxes (you just cover the shipping) and live with them for a few days before deciding. Check the colours against your walls and cabinetry in morning light, harsh midday light and lamplight at night — Brisbane's bright warm light shifts timber tones noticeably through the day, and a board that looks perfect at noon can pull orange in the evening. Click two sample pieces together while you are at it and feel the locking system engage; that little test tells you more about quality than any brochure. It is a small step that removes almost all of the second-guessing from a whole-house decision.

Do you have herringbone hybrid flooring in Brisbane?

Yes — our premium 9.5mm herringbone hybrid gives you the classic parquetry pattern in a 100% water resistant board. Traditional herringbone means solid timber blocks, days of labour and real moisture anxiety in this climate; the hybrid version clicks together as a floating floor with the pattern built in, so you get the look in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the price. It is the statement floor of our range — most often laid in entries, living rooms and the kind of renovation where the floor is meant to be noticed. Samples are available like any other board, and we would strongly suggest seeing the pattern in your own light.

What about apartments and strata acoustic rules?

Brisbane body corporates almost always ask for acoustic documentation before approving hard flooring, and this is where buying on published specs pays off. Our ranges list their acoustic test results — L'nT,w figures between 41 and 47 depending on the range — achieved with the acoustic backing already attached to the board, so there is no separate underlay to buy or argue about. The process that works: check your by-laws for the required rating, match it against the spec on the product page, and send the documentation to your body corporate before ordering. If you are not sure how to read the numbers, call us — we deal with strata requirements regularly and can tell you in two minutes whether a range will satisfy your building.

How flat does my subfloor need to be?

Flat, clean, dry and stable — the four words that decide how professional your finished floor feels. Our boards tolerate around 2mm of variation per square metre, which is more forgiving than much of the market, but high spots and dips beyond that should be ground down or filled with levelling compound before a single board clicks together. It is unglamorous work and it is also the single biggest factor in the result: a floor laid over a wavy slab will telegraph every wave. Concrete slabs should also be properly dry — new pours need their curing time. If you use our supply and install service, the levelling assessment is part of the quote rather than a surprise on the day.
