In herringbone, the rectangular boards meet in a repeating staggered arrangement. That detail is easier to understand in a room photograph than in a single sample. Look at the joins and the repeated rows when comparing products, then consider how much visual movement you want beside cabinetry, rugs and other strong patterns in the room.

Know what the board measurements mean

The total board thickness is 15.3mm and the timber veneer is 3mm. Oak identifies the veneer species; engineered identifies the board construction. Check the exact product dimensions and box coverage rather than borrowing measurements from a plank floor or another patterned range. Those details help your installer plan the layout accurately.

These herringbone and chevron floors require direct adhesive fixing (glue-down installation), as specified in their installation guide. Have your installer check the selected boards, subfloor preparation and compatible adhesive system before work starts.

Choose colour and pattern together

The current collection includes options such as Natural Limed, Light Neutral, Pale Oak, Light Malt, Coral Sand and Midnight Grey. Start with the tones that work with your existing finishes, then compare photographs of those colours in a herringbone layout. The same timber colour can create a different impression when repeated in angled rows rather than long straight planks.

Herringbone or chevron?

Plan the room before the order

Discuss the starting line, direction, doorways and edge cuts with your installer before quantities are finalised. Ask for the cutting allowance appropriate to your actual room and pattern rather than applying one universal percentage. Compare samples for colour and surface detail, keep a room image beside them for the pattern, and confirm installation requirements for the selected product.
