Price Beat Guarantee
Found the same floor advertised cheaper somewhere else? Send us the quote and we'll beat it. No theatre, no "manager's approval" routine — if the price is on an identical product, current, verifiable and Australian, we'll come in under it. That's the whole guarantee, and the rest of this page is just the detail.
If you'd rather sort it in one phone call: 0431 311 633. Have the competitor's quote or link handy and you'll have an answer in minutes.
Why we can beat showroom prices — the honest mechanics
This guarantee isn't generosity; it's structural. A flooring showroom carries rent on a high-street site, fit-out costs, display stock that never sells, and commissioned sales staff — and every one of those costs is recovered through the price per square metre. We skipped all of it. One Brisbane warehouse, an online store, published prices, and free samples doing the job a showroom does — except in your own light, in your own home.
That cost gap is why our entry 6.5mm hybrid sits around $35–43 per square metre including GST while comparable boards retail well above it, and it's why we can put this guarantee in writing. When a competitor quotes below us, it's usually a different spec wearing a similar name — thinner wear layer, no attached underlay, silica-bearing core — and the conditions below exist to catch exactly that. When it really is the same product cheaper, we'd rather beat the price than lose the order. Read more about how we keep prices down in why we refuse to open a showroom.
How to claim it — three steps
1. Find your floor and the cheaper price. The competitor's price needs to be current, advertised or formally quoted, and from an Australian seller — a screenshot, a link, or a written quote all work.
2. Send it to us. Call 0431 311 633 or use the contact page with the product name, the price, and where you saw it. If you're comparing delivered prices, include your postcode so we compare like for like.
3. We verify and beat it. We check the product is genuinely identical — same brand, range, thickness, wear layer and quantity — confirm the price is real and current, and come back with our better number. Most claims are sorted the same day.
What the guarantee covers — and what it doesn't
The conditions are the standard, reasonable ones — written to stop the guarantee being gamed, not to dodge honest claims.
Covered: identical products — same brand or manufacturer range, same thickness, wear layer and grade — advertised or quoted at a current price by an Australian retailer, in stock and available for purchase at that price, in the quantity you actually need. Supply-only prices are compared with supply-only, delivered with delivered.
Not covered: clearance, liquidation and stock-run-out prices; auction sites and private sales; pricing errors; quotes that bundle flooring with installation or other services in a way that hides the board price; cashback-conditional or membership-only prices; products that look similar but differ on spec — a 0.3mm wear layer is not a 0.5mm wear layer, and a silica-bearing core is not our silica-free SPC. We'll always tell you exactly why if a quote doesn't qualify, and what the spec difference is — that comparison is often worth more than the discount.
How to read a flooring quote like a tradie
Most "cheaper" quotes stop being cheaper once you line up all seven numbers that make up a flooring price. Before you compare anything, find each of these on both quotes:
Board price per square metre — and whether it includes GST. Ex-GST pricing is the oldest trick in trade quoting; add 10% before you compare. Quantity — the same m² including wastage. A quote that skips the 10% cutting allowance looks cheaper until you run out of boards on the last room; our calculator bakes it in. Underlay — our boards include attached acoustic underlay; if the comparison board doesn't, add $3–6 per square metre for separate underlay plus the labour of laying it. Trims and finishing — scotia, stair nosings and transition strips are small line items that add up across a whole house; check both quotes include them. Delivery — a "free delivery" price is usually built into the boards; a separate freight line is more honest, just remember to total it. Installation and prep — if install is bundled, ask for floor preparation as its own line; levelling is where vague quotes hide their margin. Warranty — a 10-year warranty board and a 20-year warranty board are not the same product at different prices; they're different products.
Ten minutes with both quotes and this list, and you'll know whether you're looking at a genuine saving or a thinner product — and either way, you're ready to use this guarantee properly.
The traps that make cheap quotes expensive
Three patterns come up constantly when we verify claims. The spec swap: same colour name, same photos, 0.3mm wear layer instead of 0.5mm — a floor that costs 15% less and wears out in half the time. The quantity squeeze: quoting bare room area with no cutting allowance, which turns into a second freight charge and a colour-batch risk when you reorder. The bundle blur: flooring-plus-install quoted as one number so you can't see that the boards are marked up to subsidise a "cheap" install rate. None of these are illegal; all of them are why the identical-product condition exists. If a quote you're holding smells like one of these, send it over anyway — we'll tell you what's actually in it, free, whether or not you buy from us.
What this guarantee says about how we price
A price-beat guarantee only works for a business whose everyday prices are already tight — if we padded our pricing the way showroom retail does, every second customer would claim it and we'd go broke honouring it. So treat this page as information about the other 99% of orders too: the published per-square-metre price you see on a product page is the real price, every day, for everyone. No sale-event theatre where the "discount" was built into last month's markup, no haggling advantage for pushy buyers over polite ones. The guarantee exists for the rare case a genuine like-for-like beat shows up — and as a standing promise that we'd rather sharpen a price than spin one.
A worked example
Say you've measured up 60m² and found boards that look like our premium 9.5mm range advertised at a sharper per-metre price. Send the link with your postcode. If it's genuinely the same spec — 9.5mm total, 0.5mm wear layer, attached acoustic underlay, silica-free SPC core — we beat the price and you've saved money twice: once on the comparison shopping, once on the beat. If it isn't the same spec, we'll show you the difference line by line, and you decide with full information. Either way you win; that's the point of doing it transparently.
Price beat guarantee — FAQs
How much do you beat the price by?
Enough that you're better off buying from us — the exact number depends on the product and the competitor's price, so call 0431 311 633 with the quote and we'll give you our best number on the spot. We don't publish a fixed percentage because honest answers beat marketing formulas.
Does it apply to delivered prices?
Yes, as long as we compare like for like: supply-only against supply-only, delivered against delivered to the same postcode. Include your suburb when you send the quote and we'll quote the full landed comparison.
Does it cover engineered timber, laminate and vinyl too?
Yes — the guarantee covers our whole range: hybrid, engineered timber, laminate, vinyl and accessories. The identical-product condition applies the same way to each.
What counts as an identical product?
Same brand or manufacturer range, same total thickness, same wear layer, same attached underlay, same grade — the specs printed on every one of our product pages. "Looks the same in photos" doesn't qualify, and that's deliberate: the photo is the cheapest part of a floor to copy.
Can I use it after I've already ordered?
The guarantee applies to prices found before you order — it's a buying tool, not a refund scheme. If you spot something within a day or two of ordering, call us anyway; we'd rather sort it than have you feel burned.
Why not just price-match like the big chains?
Matching means you gained nothing for finding the better price — beating means you did. And unlike a chain store, the person assessing your claim actually works with these floors and can tell you in two minutes whether the competitor's board really is the same product.
Do you beat quotes that include installation?
We beat the board price, because that's the part we can compare honestly. If your competitor quote bundles supply and install into one number, ask them to split it — any straight operator will — and send us the supply line. If they won't split it, that tells you something about where the margin is hiding, and our seven-point quote checklist above will help you find it.
Can I stack the price beat with a discount code?
One price mechanism at a time — the beat is calculated against our published price, and a discount code is its own offer. If you're holding a code when you send a claim through, we'll run both numbers and tell you which lands lower; you get the better of the two, not both stacked on top of each other. That keeps the guarantee honest enough to keep offering, which is worth more to you over a whole renovation than a double-dip on one order.
Do you beat the big-box chains and showroom franchises?
Yes — the conditions don't change with the size of the competitor. Chain pricing usually relies on house-brand boards that exist nowhere else, which is its own kind of price-beat protection: if no one else can stock the product, no one can undercut it. Where a chain stocks a genuinely identical product to ours at a lower advertised price, send it through like any other claim.
Can builders and installers use it?
Yes — and if you're buying regularly, sign up for a trade account first, because trade pricing may already land below the price you were about to ask us to beat. The guarantee compares retail advertised prices; trade terms are their own conversation, and a quick call sorts which gets you the better number.
What if the cheaper price needs interstate freight?
Then we compare landed cost, because that's what you actually pay. A board that's $3 cheaper per square metre but $300 dearer in freight isn't cheaper. Send both the price and your postcode and we'll do the full comparison — boards, freight, the lot.
What do I need to send you?
Three things: the product (name and link or quote document), the price, and where it's from. A current screenshot or written quote is perfect. For delivered comparisons, add your postcode. Phone is fastest — 0431 311 633 — or use the contact page.
Is the cheaper product ever the right choice?
Sometimes, and we'll say so. If you're flooring a low-traffic rental and a thinner wear layer genuinely suits the budget and the use, that's a fair call — we'd rather you buy the right floor than the dearest one. What we won't do is pretend a lower spec is the same product at a better price. Order free samples of both contenders if you can; boards in hand settle most debates.
