How to compare two floors
Start with what the floor is made of and how it is fitted, then compare price per m², board height and the number of whole boxes your room needs. Colour comes last, and a sample is the only fair way to judge it.
- Surface. Real timber, bamboo or a printed timber look on a hybrid, laminate or vinyl board.
- Fitting. Click-together floating floors and glue-down floors need different subfloor preparation.
- Height and size. Thickness matters at doors and next to other floors; plank size changes how many joins you see.
- Sound. In apartments, compare the listed acoustic results and get your building’s approval for the tested setup.
- Cost. Compare price per m², then whole boxes for your room, since boxes cover different areas.
