Every board comes with a 1.5mm IXPE underlay already attached, so the floor feels softer and sounds quieter than a bare click floor. In independent acoustic testing the 6.5mm range rated AAAC 4 star (L’nT,w 47), a solid result for family homes and many apartments.
A high-definition timber print sits under a 0.5mm wear layer, and a four-sided micro bevel makes each join read like a real board. The range comes in 12 colours, from Pale Sand to Charcoal.
“My neighbour is a carpenter and asked me what type of wood my new floors were! I told him it was hybrid and he couldn’t believe it. I’m seriously impressed.” Amber Wislton
The boards click together as a floating floor, with no glue and no separate underlay to buy. At 1540 x 182mm they’re light and easy to handle for a first DIY job. Pro tip: make sure your subfloor is flat before you start, it makes all the difference. See the install guide.
A printed timber-look decor layer sits over the rigid SPC core. Compare samples to choose the colour and surface detail for your rooms.
Review the product installation, maintenance and warranty documents before ordering. Correct preparation, installation and care are conditions to check for your project.
The linked safety data sheet reports zero respirable silica dust content. Refer to the current SDS under Product Downloads for the product’s safety and handling information.
Four layers do the work, top to bottom. A 0.5mm wear layer takes the scuffs and scratches. The decor layer carries the timber print. The 5mm SPC core is dense stone polymer composite that won’t swell when it gets wet. And the 1.5mm IXPE underlay comes attached for comfort and sound.

6.5mm hybrid is a 5mm stone polymer composite (SPC) core with a 1.5mm IXPE underlay already attached, finished with a timber print and a 0.5mm wear layer. It clicks together as a floating floor, so it goes down fast over most flat subfloors, and it’s the lightest, most affordable board in our hybrid flooring range.
Select rooms that meet this product’s installation, moisture and warranty conditions. The warranty excludes installations subject to potential water immersion, including bathrooms and areas with floor drains. Its AAAC 4 star (L’nT,w 47) result describes the tested assembly; apartment and townhouse use still depends on the building’s acoustic requirements and approval. Check these conditions before choosing flooring for a kitchen or laundry.
Choose 6.5mm for value and easy handling. Step up to 9.5mm hybrid for longer, wider boards, a 5 star acoustic rating and a firmer feel, or to 9.5mm herringbone for a parquetry look. Still deciding? Here’s whether thickness really matters.
Lay it over concrete, timber or most existing tiles, as long as the subfloor is clean, dry and flat. Leave an expansion gap at the walls and cover it with matching trims. Start with our subfloor prep guide, then the install guide. Laying over tiles? See hybrid over tiles.
Every colour in the range has matching trims, so the edges look as good as the floor: scotia for skirting lines, stair nosing for steps, and T-mouldings and reducers for doorways. Browse all flooring accessories.
Each box covers 2.24 m². Measure your rooms and add 10% for cuts, then use our flooring calculator or the measurement guide.
Sweep or vacuum, then damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. No steam mops. The full routine is in our cleaning guide.

COMMON QUESTIONS [6.5MM HYBRID]
Thickness mostly changes three things: how quiet the floor is, how solid it feels and what it costs. Thicker boards usually test quieter, feel firmer underfoot and come in longer, wider planks that read more like real timber. Our 6.5mm range is the lighter, more affordable option, and for most households the day-to-day difference is small. Compare it with our 9.5mm hybrid or read whether thickness matters.
Usually, yes. In independent testing the 6.5mm range rated AAAC 4 star (L’nT,w 47, FIIC 60), which suits many strata buildings. Every building sets its own rules, so check your by-laws or send us your building’s requirements and we’ll help you check. The full acoustic report is under Product Downloads above, and our apartment acoustics guide explains the ratings.
Yes. The boards click together as a floating floor, so there’s no glue and no separate underlay to lay. If you’re comfortable with basic tools, follow our step-by-step install guide. Not sure it’s a job for you? See which floors suit DIY, or ask about our installation partner.
These boards already have a 1.5mm IXPE underlay attached. Do not add another underlay unless the product installation guide expressly permits the proposed system. Check any underlay or moisture-control layer against the guide, your subfloor and your building’s requirements before installation. Read our underlay guide for the questions to check.
The linked safety data sheet reports zero respirable silica dust content. Refer to the current SDS under Product Downloads for the product’s safety and handling information.
The linked product warranty excludes installations subject to potential water immersion, including bathrooms and areas with floor drains. A water-resistant core does not remove these room-use restrictions. Check the installation guide, care instructions and warranty under Product Downloads before choosing this floor for a kitchen, laundry or another room.
A clean, dry, flat subfloor. Concrete, timber and most existing tiles all work, but dips or humps need fixing first so the boards lock together properly and don’t move over time. Our subfloor prep guide covers what to check.
In most cases, yes. Hybrid floats over tiles as long as they’re flat, sound and firmly stuck down, which saves the cost and mess of ripping them up. Here’s how to lay hybrid over tiles.
Yes. The boards click to each other rather than to the subfloor, which is what makes it quick to lay and easy to repair. It also means heavy fixed items like kitchen islands need some planning. See cabinets and heavy furniture on a floating floor, how to replace a damaged board, or browse all our floating floors.
Yes. It’s scratch resistant, 100% water resistant and easy to clean, so claws and the odd accident are no drama as long as spills are wiped up reasonably quickly. More in can pets damage hybrid flooring, or see our pet friendly floors.
Sweep or vacuum regularly, then damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. Skip steam mops, oil-based polishes and harsh chemicals. Our cleaning guide has the full routine.
Yes, with matching stair nosings and glue rather than click-lock alone. We recommend a professional installer for stairs. See how stair nosing is installed.
Each box covers 2.24 m². Measure each room, add 10% for cuts, then divide by 2.24 and round up. Our flooring calculator does the maths, and the measurement guide shows how to measure awkward rooms.
Yes, and we recommend it. Colours look different in your own light, so order a sample before you buy. You can also call us on 0431 311 633 or get a quote for your whole project.
No. The linked hybrid installation guide states that this flooring is not compatible with any floor heating system and that floor heating may void the product warranty. Check the current product documents before ordering for a heated subfloor.
