Driftwood has the soft, greyed, weathered look of timber washed smooth by the tide — relaxed and coastal, but laid in the structured herringbone zig-zag for a more considered finish. It is a grey with warmth in it, so it feels calm and beachy rather than cold and industrial, and it sits beautifully with linen, rattan, pale stone and soft whites.

Where it works best. As 100% waterproof luxury vinyl, Driftwood is built for coastal and family homes alike — fine in the kitchens, laundries, entries and bathrooms where engineered-timber herringbone cannot go. The weathered, multi-tonal grey is one of the most forgiving floors for hiding sand, salt, crumbs and everyday wear.

Made in Korea. Each plank is 4.5mm thick with a 0.5mm commercial-grade wear layer, P3 slip-rated and AAAC 4-Star for acoustic comfort. It is manufactured in South Korea to a consistent, low-emission standard — a real step up from variable budget vinyl — and it is backed by a lifetime residential / 15-year commercial warranty.

Glue-down installation. Driftwood is glued to the subfloor, which keeps the herringbone flat, tight and silent over years of use. A capable DIYer can lay it on a clean, level subfloor, but the angled set-out needs patience — dry-lay from the centre, work in sections with a notched trowel, and allow around 10% extra for cuts. Larger areas are best handed to a professional.

Is it a cold grey? No — a warm, weathered grey with natural tonal variation, so it reads relaxed and coastal rather than stark. Good for beach houses and rentals? Ideal — waterproof, hard-wearing, and it hides sandy, salty foot traffic better than almost any other tone.
