Rustic Path Herringbone: warm, characterful brown with heritage charm
Rustic Path brings warm, characterful brown tones to the herringbone layout, with the kind of depth and grain variation that gives a floor a touch of heritage charm. It is for the home that wants warmth and personality underfoot — richer and more characterful than a plain oak, it suits both classic interiors (panelling, soft whites, antique timber furniture) and warm-modern spaces that lean into texture and natural materials.
Where Rustic Path works best
Because it is 100% water resistant luxury vinyl, that warm character is not confined to the living room — it carries into kitchens, hallways and laundries where a real-timber herringbone would be a gamble. The mid-brown tone and varied grain are very forgiving of daily life, hiding crumbs, paw prints and scuffs better than a pale or uniform floor.
Korean-made and built to last
Rustic Path is 4.5mm thick with a 0.5mm commercial-grade wear layer, P3 slip-rated according to ArtiFloor's specification, with acoustic performance dependent on the tested floor and ceiling construction. It is made in South Korea to a consistent, low-emission standard rather than to a budget price, and it is backed by a lifetime residential / 15-year commercial warranty.
Glue-down installation
Rustic Path glues directly to the subfloor, which keeps the herringbone flat, tight and quiet for the long haul. A confident DIYer can lay it on a level, dry subfloor, but the angled pattern is less forgiving than straight planks — set out from the centre, use a notched trowel, and allow around 10% extra for perimeter cuts. For big or commercial jobs, bring in a pro.
FAQs
Is the brown warm or red?
Warm and earthy rather than red — a natural timber brown with character, not an orange or mahogany tone.
Why choose herringbone over straight planks?
Herringbone adds a designer, parquet-style feature and a sense of craftsmanship; it tends to lift the perceived value of a room more than a straight lay.

The specifications
The details, before you decide.
- Thickness
- 4.5mm
This is the board's full height. Use it to plan neat joins with nearby floors and check that doors can still open. For comfort and quieter footsteps, compare the underlay and acoustic rating as well as board thickness.
- Plank size
- 914.4x152.4mm
Each plank is 91.44 cm long and 15.24 cm wide. Longer, wider planks mean fewer joins across the room. Mark these measurements on your floor to picture the layout.
- Coverage per box
- 1.67 m²
This is the floor area that one full box covers. One square metre is a square 1 metre long and 1 metre wide. Allow extra for cuts, then round up to whole boxes. The calculator above does this for you.
- Joining system
- Glue Down
The boards are fixed to the floor underneath with flooring glue. A smooth, prepared base and the correct glue matter. Check the installation guide before you start.
- Wear layer
- 0.5mm
The clear wear layer protects the timber-look design from everyday foot traffic. At 0.5 mm, it is a durable choice for busy homes. It helps prevent the pattern wearing away; felt pads still help prevent scratches.
- Surface treatment
- Matte embossed surface; antibacterial UV coating
This protective coating is hardened with UV light at the factory. It helps protect against daily wear and makes routine cleaning easier. Follow the care guide when choosing cleaners.
- Profile
- Square edge
The boards have straight edges with no sloped border. This gives the floor a flatter-looking join between planks.
- Package details
- Box size: 1.67m2 / 12 Boards Weight: 13kg
This lists what comes in one box, such as the number of boards and the area they cover. Where a weight is shown, it is useful for planning pickup, carrying and storage. Left and right boards, when listed, form a matching pattern.
- Acoustic rating
- L'nT,w: 52 (200mm slab; supplier specification)
Quieter footsteps matter most in upstairs rooms and apartments. Lower L'nT,w and higher FIIC mean less noise in the test. Send the report to your body corporate to check its requirements and the tested floor setup.
- Slip rating
- P3 (supplier specification; AS 4586-2013)
P3 gives more tested wet grip than P2, useful when comparing floors for kitchens, hallways and living areas. Wipe up spills promptly. Stairs and wet areas still need the right product and installation.
- Fire resistance
- CHF 9.3 kW/m²; smoke 119 %.min (AS ISO 9239.1-2003)
This shows how the floor performed in a fire test. A higher CHF number means a better result in that test. It does not mean the floor cannot burn. Your builder can check the test report for your project.
- Product type
- 4.5mm Herringbone Vinyl Flooring
Vinyl uses a printed design and a protective surface to create the floor's look. Check the joining system: it tells you whether this product clicks together or needs glue.
- Style
- Herringbone
Short rectangular boards meet in a zigzag pattern. The ends meet the sides of other boards. Plan the layout and cutting allowance with your installer.
- Commercial Grade
- Herringbone
- 4.5mm Thickness
- Glue-Down
- 100% Water Resistant

A Total Thickness of 4.5mm
Board thickness drives how a floor feels and sounds underfoot — more body means a more solid, quieter step and better forgiveness over minor subfloor imperfections. Up top, a 0.5mm wear layer takes the daily knocks so the look stays protected for years.
