Glue-down planks bond directly to the subfloor for a rock-solid, quiet result that stays put for the long haul — straightforward enough for confident DIYers.
Sierra Oak Herringbone is a warm, mid-toned oak luxury vinyl laid in the classic herringbone pattern — the zig-zag parquet look that has become one of the most-requested floors in Australian homes. The mid-brown tone is the versatile one in the range: warm enough to soften an all-white room, yet with enough grain to sit confidently beside dark joinery, stone benchtops and black tapware.
Where it works best. Because it is 100% waterproof luxury vinyl rather than engineered timber, Sierra Oak goes where real wood can't — living rooms and hallways where the herringbone draws the eye, and the kitchens, laundries and entries that cop wet shoes and spills. The angled pattern also helps disguise everyday crumbs, scuffs and traffic.
Built to be lived on, made in Korea. Each plank is 4.5mm thick with a 0.5mm commercial-grade wear layer, P3 slip-rated and AAAC 4-Star for quiet comfort underfoot. It is made in South Korea, where mills are known for consistent quality control and low-emission formulations rather than the variable unbranded vinyl at the budget end of the market, and it is backed by a lifetime residential / 15-year commercial warranty.
Glue-down installation. Herringbone only looks its best when every plank sits dead flat and tight, so Sierra Oak is bonded directly to the subfloor for a rock-solid, quiet result. It is achievable for a confident DIYer on a flat, clean subfloor, but the angled set-out is less forgiving than straight planks — dry-lay from the centre, work in sections with a notched trowel, and allow around 10% extra for cuts. For large areas, a professional gives the crispest finish.
Is it waterproof? Yes, 100% — fine for kitchens, laundries and bathrooms. Is herringbone vinyl worth it? For the premium parquet look with water resistance and low maintenance, without the price of real timber, it is hard to beat — the main trade-offs are a slightly more involved install and a little extra material for the angled cuts.

Board thickness drives how a floor feels and sounds underfoot — more body means a more solid, quieter step and better forgiveness over minor subfloor imperfections. Up top, a 0.5mm wear layer takes the daily knocks so the look stays protected for years.
"Happy I found Hybrid Floors Australia for my reno, far cheaper than any other supplier. The team were awesome, answering all my questions and super prompt delivery. Product looks exactly as pictured online, great quality. Will be coming back when doing the bedrooms, 10/10 would recommend." Google Review
