What is 4.5mm Vinyl Flooring
Spotted Gum is one of Australia's most dramatic timber looks β rich, rolling browns with bold grain and real tonal variation from plank to plank. As a 4.5mm luxury vinyl plank it brings all that character to the floor without the price or maintenance of solid timber β a warm, grounding, statement floor with enough depth to anchor a big open-plan space.
Where it works best. Being 100% waterproof, Spotted Gum suits the whole home, including kitchens, laundries and entries that rule out real timber. Its mid-brown tones and busy grain are among the most forgiving of any floor for hiding crumbs, pet hair, dust and everyday scuffs.
Solid underfoot. At 4.5mm thick it feels solid and quiet and has the body to ride over minor subfloor imperfections. The 0.5mm commercial-grade wear layer takes the daily knocks so the rich grain stays protected, and it is scratch-resistant, pet-friendly and backed by a lifetime residential / 15-year commercial warranty.
Korean-made and glued down. Spotted Gum is made in South Korea to a consistent, low-emission standard β accurate grain and stable boards rather than variable budget vinyl. It glues directly to the subfloor for a rock-solid, quiet floor, and as a straight-lay plank it is a realistic DIY job on a flat, clean subfloor.
Will the grain look repetitive? Less than most β strong plank-to-plank variation means the floor reads natural, not printed. Is a dark, busy floor hard to keep clean? It is one of the easiest to live with; the tone and grain disguise day-to-day mess, and a sweep and occasional damp mop keeps it looking good.
